The Post Pandemic Challenges for Public and National Safety: Who has adapted better – Law Enforcement or Criminals?
The conference will examines the fast-evolving changes into crime since digitisation. Is law enforcement keeping pace?
The 2022 Conference is Chaired by Mr Khoo Boon Hui who was Singapore’s Police Commissioner from 1997 to 2010 and INTERPOL President from 2008 to 2012. He left the Ministry of Home Affairs as its Senior Deputy Secretary in 2015 and currently holds advisory and board positions in a number of notable organisations across various industry sectors.
Day 1 of the Milipol Conference will focus on the fast changing regional challenges facing the public and private sector security forces, reflecting on how crime has very quickly evolved, especially in this digital, connected age, with crime now increasingly less restricted by borders and with criminals using new tools at their disposal, making criminal activity ever- increasingly harder to identify, track and convict.
With key speakers from ASEANAPOL, UNODC, INTERPOL and Regional Chiefs of Security Forces, this promises a highly informative insight for all senior security officers on their future challenges and responsibilities to remain capable and viable in the foreseeable future. Traditional crime has not left us, but it has been added to with a new dimension.
